Very small deviances – Micro Power
Once again we have found an intersting deviance between two versions of a game from Micro Power called Gauntlet.
Firstly we see that the colours differ but this is one of the things that is hard with these old games to determine if the colour difference is due to sunlight or if it is just two different revisions being printed on different occasions. My assumption thoug, is that the selected green colour is on purpose and would even as new look very different.

A big difference though, and this is really something I did not spot at first as I was seeing this as a double from the title in my collection that came in one of the bundles I bought end of last year.
And it is really funny that it was when comparing the colours on the covers I first noticed this,

I’m pretty sure you allready had spotted it – the logo differs – one is black-and-white and the other one in the traditonal Micro Power colours. I’ve now understod that this exists in this line-up.
I’m still not one hundred percent sure on that if one is a pre-release, misprint or just a new revision of the same cover. I will explore this matter further. What I do know is that this variation exist.
Collector Insights on the inside
Firstly when we go through the text and the symbols in the inlay we notice that there is really no differences. It is when our eyes fall on the frame consisting of the company name that we spot areal differnce.
The first cover has both Program Power and Micro Power in the border. It also ends without finalizing the word. Check down on the right bottom corner as an example of what I mean, it says “MicroPow” and ends like that. It also has all letters in black with white background.
Looking at the Second cover we see that it only uses the name “Micro Power” in the frame. It also has it well designed so every word is finalized in the frame. And thirdly it has “Micro” with black text and white background while “Power” is written with white texte and has a black background.
So my final conclusion is that this is not a misprint but now stays into either a pre-release or an upgraded version of the cover.
