Stix is one of the funnier games released on the Commodore 64.
The game was first released by Supersoft in 1983 and is a conversion of the popular QIX Taito coin-op game. The gameplot is simple. Firstly you need to draw out squares in a square and when all lines connect it fills up.
You need to complete a number of percentage of the main rectangle. Watch out for the bugs following the lines that hunts you. One touch and you are dead. Hours of fun play.

The first release of Stix was in 1983 with the below cover – really neat and simple and clear in its form. A flat white background with a vivid STIX logotype. The 64 Supersoft logotype is well in place and is in balance with the main parts of the front cover. You can feel the new lines that emerge in the shadow of the STIX logo. White, Yellow, Blue and light Pink fits very well together.

The new version coming our in 1984 has a new approach of a 3D illustration of the blocks from the game. I really believe that they might have had a good idea, but the outcome become just nothing in my humble opinion. The Stix logo has a poorer look than the first version and is just a stiff STIX in the starstruck universe panorama. The saying less is more has really a visual example in this. The 1984 cover is overcomplicated and the pick of colours makes the cover to messy and a bad fit to the black universe sky background.
