St.Crippens Review
A game from Creative Sparks but released under their budget lineup called Sparklers. Always when you are given a budget title you start with a high grade of suspision – This St.Crippens review is a proof of that even a non-expected game can give you joy. The graphics is infantile and the steering of the main character is on occasions a bit hard to control – it is very easy to come close to the hospital people trying to get you back to your bed.
The game itself is going through different rooms and avoiding getting caught and avoiding the objects in your path. You need to find your way to the exit and avoid to guards when running out.

Even though the graphics could be better one must admit that when your character gets down the injury lane and needs to jump around on the newly given crutches is hilarious.
The game is easy and gives you a challenge to find your way out. I almost don’t dare that I’ve played the double digit times now.
Try it out – really worth it.
From the magazines
HOSPITALS have never been popular places and with its boast, ‘Worst hospital in the world,’ St Crippens won’t change that. Patients never recover and often disappear for ever. Guiding your patient around you explore the rooms searching for clothes – essential to your escape. Hospital staff will pursue you. There are bedpans lying about the ward floors, mutants in the Genetic Engineering Department and mould on the kitchen floor.
All must be avoided. Detailed graphics are limited and barely adequate. There are patients strung up in beds wearing body plasters or playing darts in the games room; the matrons have buns in their hair. It is difficult to pick out your patient amongst the swarm after him, as all characters tend to look alike. Controlling the patient is tiresome. He refuses to react immediately and often gets caught. It is sold at the cheaper end of the market, but it could do with a shot in the arm or a medical examination before realease.

You have just woken up to the awful truth, having been involved in a minor accident, nothing really . . just a few cuts and bruises, you have been admitted to St. Crippens — the worst hospital in the world. The patients here are literally dying to get out!
Fear grips you as you realise that you must escape before you become really ill. After all cases of people disappearing completely from St. Crippens are not unknown. They have given you hospital pyjamas, so you must find a new set of clothes or you will never slip past the security guards.
You will be pursued by nurses, male and female, matrons, porters (they get a bounty for each escaping patient they catch) and even creatures from the Genetic Engineering Lab. Good luck . . . you’ll need it.

Our St.Crippens Review rating
A definite try it out game. You will enjoy it for sure and it really gives you this 8-bit sensation in gaming that is so symbolic to the era. I really like it and I believe that the ratings on the game in the magazines was to hard.
And yes, I understand that I’m giving out my game preferences here, but that is on me. We give it six nurses out of ten.
