At first glimpse with Melbourne House
Some of the major software houses like Melbourne House come out with the same title in the ordinary hard-case covers and in more exclusive packages. It can be everything from the standard size clam cases to big-size paper-packages.
Melbourne House is known to have both – so are there any differences to be expected? Lets compare.

As you can see above, the different packaging from standard and clam has no visual differencs rather than the proportions that the different size of the front cover gives. So by this we can state that this is not something that would give obvious differences.
We will compare Big-package/paper covers and original plastic covers in the Cover Upgrade section as they can be seen as two different products.
Between Standard Covers

But here we got two different versions of Starion in the same standard plastic case. When it comes to the shade between the colours on the two covers you can spot a differenc. But as always with these shades you do not know if they have become due to the tides of time.
But if we exclude that perception we can quite fast spot two main differences between the covers.
The Subject
First we have differences in the central subject – we are given more of the visual experience taking place on the cover – a more trained eye understand the change – and for this reason it becomes easier to see which one of the two that is the first version of the cover.

The Melbourne House Logos
Another minor thing that can be spotted as a difference is the slight change on the artwork of one of the logos. This is maybe the most common difference between new revisions of a title. As you see below – from being mono-coloured the logo has become a two-coloured piece.

In my opinion the white colour brings out the logo to a more visible piece of the cover and makes the significant ‘M’ shine out – So now you know where to direct your perspective when examining your Melbourne House releases. And who knows, maybe you find that what you thought was a duplicate is not.
