Spotting the Imagine Font
One of the harder parts to detect as a collector are these minor differences. In this post we will highlight the Imagine Font.
I must be honest with you and admit that it took me a while before spotting these differences. But with a sneaky eye it appeared to me in the shadows of my thousands of titles.
As you can see on the different versions of the covers there are several things that differ. To start with you can spot that the colours on the main picture of the covers differ. Though what is hard today is to know if the colours are different due to the original printing or due to the sunshine taking down the colourfullness.
There is though a significant difference and that is the font type on the border side of the covers. It is really clear that this two versions of the same game are actually two different designs.
Why they did this change is unclear, less ink? The bolder text version is from 1982 and the lighter one is from 1983. This difference has been spotted on the Vic 20 versions of games under the Imagine label.
